Huna & Ho’oponopono

Huna & Ho’oponopono

( Currently under Construction …do come back later for Times and Fees …thank you )

HUNA is an ancient wisdom that reconnects us to the energy of life. A HUNA practice helps us to achieve peace, personal balance and optimum health.

Through the practice of HUNA, we can manage and direct our energies effectively through a deep understanding of the real meaning of personal power, intention, and belief.

Huna has also been described as a philosophical system with Hawaiian roots that is about personal empowerment and fulfillment. This system is a form of shamanism and uses all the elements of nature to work with both individuals and groups to make the world a better place.

Huna is a philosophy …. a set of ideas that doesn’t replace others necessarily, but can help us make whatever rules for life we have work better for us, or help us change them if we choose to.

THE 7 PRINCIPLES OF HUNA

IKEThe world is what you think it is – Lawe i ka ma’alea a ku’ono’ono – if you want to be really good at something, you have to study and practise it deeply till it becomes a part of you.

The Huna principle of IKE reminds us that the world and our reality and experiences are open to personal interpretation. You become what you think as your beliefs and actions create that reality.

KALA: There are no limits – Kulia i ka nu’ – strive to be your best self and achieve your goals.

When you hold that image of hope and belief that you can achieve your dreams, then it’s possible for you to strive to achieve them.

MAKIA: Energy flows where attention goes – Ho’onalu –  be like the waves and go with the flow

Focus on the things that matter most to you. Be mindful, meditate, create stillness and flow.

MANAWA: Now is the moment of power – Oi kau ka lau. E hana l ola Honua – Live your life while the sun’s still shining.

Don’t focus or dwell on the fears or disappointments of the past or anxieties about the future. Learn from them and see them as powerful lessons propelling you forwards.

ALOHA: To love is to be happy with – E lei kau, e lei ho’oilo i ke Aloha – reminds us that love is everlasting throughout all seasons. Aloha, love and happiness intertwine.

Aloha teaches us that the depth of our love is the extent to whatever it is that we love brings us happiness, and to share that happiness is a powerful means for change. We either choose love or fear, anger and hatred.

MANA: All power comes from within – La’l lua ke kai – the practice of la’i lua ke kai is becoming calm and deep as the sea -like a person who radiates tranquility and appears to have great depth.

Moving enthusiastically forward comes from within, and from the accumulation of all your experiences as well as your beliefs about yourself and your life.

This can be similar to experiencing a deep sense of confidence and self-belief. When we develop a spiritual practise, take time to be still / meditate, think empowering thoughts and look after our body, it all comes together to give us inner strength, which develops more inner peace and mana.

PONO: Effectiveness is the measure of truth – A’ohe hana nui ke alu ‘ia – no task is too difficult when done in unity.

Some people feel like life has left them with little options and that nothing they do will result in success. They do not consider their options or attempt anything to improve their circumstances due to their mindset of limited or negative beliefs.

With awareness (Ike), freedom (Kala), focus (Makia), presence (Manawa), love (Aloha), confidence (Mana) and flexibility ( Pono), our commitment to learning and thinking in a different way becomes our new mindset.

Ka Hana Pono – to be in harmony with reality, to understand empowerment and to look for the inner meanings …. to know, practise and do what is right

HO’OPONOPONO – THE KUPONO PROCESS

TheKupono Process is a personal form of Ho’oponopono based on the Kahlil Huna lineage taught by Dr Serge Kahili King as a process that can be used to straighten out your life.

Kupono can be used to assist you individually as well as within groups such as family, friends and colleagues to resolve conflicts by creating harmony and achieving goals that are a win-win for everyone.

The word Ho’oponopono means in general ‘to straighten things out – to make things right’ and is used specifically as a kind of mental cleansing to heal relationships through discussion and forgiveness.

Harmony and Balance – it restores Pono

Ho’oponopono is a simple and extremely effective Hawaiian forgiveness practise to heal divisions within the three selves and reclaim our wholeness, so that Ku, Lonoand Kane can unite to create balance and harmony.

Ku is the unconscious body-mind … sometimes referred to as the ‘subconscious mind’. Always overseeing every aspect of our lives even though we are unaware of all that it does. It communicates through feelings and emotions.

Lono is our conscious mind – the aspect of you that associate with your identity and awareness. It responds and reacts to our feelings and emotions.

Kane is your ‘higher Self … your spiritual self’ or also known as the ‘superconscious mind’. When the Ku and Lono are in balance (the conscious and unconscious mind), Kane as our own creative source, manifests the birthing/ creation of our thoughts and intentions.

There are many well known variations of Ho’oponopono such as that of Mary Kawena Pukui, Morrnah Simeona, Dr. Serge Kahili King, Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len who teamed up with Dr Joe Vitale and Mathew Dixon to include the Ho’oponopono phrase that has become quite popular in the West as a meditation to help develop self-love and self-esteem when we need it most, as well as an approach to forgiving other people.

The word ‘Kupono‘ means to do things correctly, appropriately and to move towards a goal.

The word also implies the act of correcting the Ku or subconscious so with the Kahili Kupono Process, it’s about changing your perception and experience of how you view the world around you rather than trying to change the world.
